New Reference Area

The reference area in the library is almost finished! Check out the photo above to see our new reference desk furniture. This desk features areas for patrons to sit and work in consultation with the reference librarian on duty--a great improvement from the old days when people had to peer over the monitor at the desk, with no place to sit down!

Reference Area Redesign Progress!

The images above show the progress we're making on the Reference area redesign! The back wall has been painted, and the side wooden wall has been removed to open the area up so that we can add a consultation table where you'll actually be able to sit down with us rather than standing in front of the desk that we currently have!

Next week, the phone and network lines will be moved to where we'll need them for the new desk, and the electric lines will be moved soon as well. Once this work is done, the old white desk will be removed, and new carpeting will be installed in that area. The lettering for the back wall should be here soon, and the new furniture is on order.

We're really excited about this new look for the reference area--it represents the new ways that we're trying to work with you! Please let us know what you think!
